Introduction: New French Teacher
Salut tout le monde!
Merci beaucoup for visiting our SLC French blog. I'm thrilled to begin a new year as the new French teacher at Schoolcraft!
After three years of hard work and a wonderful experience, Amandine relocated to St. Cloud where she is now teaching high school French. She speaks fondly of her time at Schoolcraft, and is sure to head up-north to visit us at some point this year!
My name in the classroom is "Maimouna", though my given name is Megan. I grew up near Madison, Wisconsin, where I studied French and Environmental Studies (Go Badgers!). I joined the Peace Corps in 2010, and lived and worked in a very small village in Cameroon for two years. I quickly discovered that I loved working with youth, in and outside of the classroom. While in Africa, I learned and fell in love with Cameroonian culture, and was also able to learn "Fulfulde", a language spoken in the northern regions of Cameroon. I'm excited to share my experience with my students this year, and learn all about Schoolcraft and the cultures of northern Minnesota. Check out a few pictures of my experience below!
When I'm not at Schoolcraft, I love to read, run, speak other languages, practice yoga, canoe, and fish! I wake up excited to come to school everyday to see all of my bright, beautiful students. I can't wait to get to know you all better this year!
A très bientôt,
Maimouna
